A man from Australia that leaped past a barrier and grabbed Hollywood star Ariana Grande has been sent away and banned from Singapore.

The individual, 26, was sentenced to more than a week in jail for disrupting public order and has now been "prohibited from returning to Singapore," the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority told news outlets.

Wen pushed beyond security and approached aggressively the actress and singer, who was attending the Asian premier for Wicked: For Good on November 13. Co-performer Cynthia Erivo pulled him back from Grande.

Wen has a history of causing disturbances at events and high-profile gatherings, including rushing the stage at a Katy Perry performance in Sydney in the past June.

The incident sparked outrage in Singapore, with many claiming he of causing further distress to the star.

The singer has discussed suffering from trauma-related anxiety after a suicide bomb attack at her performance in the English city in May 2017 killed 22 individuals and affected hundreds.

Throughout the court proceedings, the court heard he had made efforts to breach on the red carpet event twice, according to regional reports.

He then made a second attempt to jump the barricades. Security staff stopped him and held him in place.

He then uploaded video clips appreciating the celebrity for permitting his access and said he was "free."

Law enforcement detained him the next day and accused him with causing a disturbance, to which the man admitted guilt.

The Presiding Judge Christopher Goh was referenced by a news outlet as saying that he was looking for publicity, adding that he was mistaken to believe he would not face any penalties.

The actress has not spoken about the incident.

Cynthia Erivo spoke about the event to NBC, stating that she "just wanted to verify my colleague was secure."

"I'm sure he had no intention to us harm, but you cannot be certain with such situations, and I aimed to confirm that she was fine. That was my immediate response," she commented.
