Recent Particulars Come to Light Concerning the Finding of the Reiner Couple's Remains
Recent details have emerged about the shocking deaths of renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were found at their Brentwood, Los Angeles residence on Sunday.
A Discovery
A source indicates quoting a confidential source, a therapist arriving for an appointment initially became concerned after failing to get inside the house. This individual then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives close by.
Upon entering the residence, Romy found her father's body. It is said she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Her roommate who had accompanied her promptly called 911. Following this, paramedics found Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Criminal Developments
The police have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of first-degree murder, as well as the use of a dangerous weapon, said to be a knife. He is presently being held and denied bail.
Correcting the Record
The confidential informant challenged several previously reported details. They said that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a detached unit on the property, she did not identify him as a suspect at that time.
The source also pushed back against published notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "concerned" about Nick's behavior in recent weeks. The source claimed the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."
This correction includes descriptions of reportedly "unpredictable" conduct by Nick at a party held by Conan O'Brien on the night before the bodies were found. Although the source said they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they said that reports of a "heated argument" between the two were untrue.
Ongoing Inquiry Timeline
As stated by law enforcement sources, the medical examiner had not yet established as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Preliminary accounts suggested the condition of their bodies implied they had been deceased for a number of hours.
Nick Reiner was taken into custody at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the scene. He was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not been medically cleared and would be unable to attend until no sooner than Wednesday.
